Now an award-winning financial services professional, Douglas Charney previously served his country for decades in the US military. He began preparing for his military career at Penn State Harrisburg, which he attended on an ROTC Scholarship. Douglas Charney excelled at Penn State, regularly making the dean’s list and winning the ROTA Marshall Award as the number one ROTC student at the school.
Mr. Charney was subsequently commissioned as a second lieutenant in the US Army. Over the next 5 years, he completed the Officer Basic Course, the Officer Advanced Course, and combat parachute training at the Army Airborne School. He also carried out responsibilities as a shop officer and executive officer. After his discharge from the Army with the rank of captain, he spent several years with the Army National Guard before joining the Army Reserves, where he rose to the rank of colonel.

As the president of Charney Investment Group, he offers personalized strategies aimed at helping clients achieve financial independence.
